The Anunturi-Ploiesti Garden Supply was started by a soft-spoken woman by the name of Theresa Romano on the smallest of scales. Originally, she sold plant cuttings from her own garden, and met with neighbors for garden consultations; in other words, they wanted her advice. When business started to pick up, and Theresa became overwhelmed, her husband stepped in to give the business the strong foundation it needed. Together they opened an official store, where Theresa’s passion for landscaping, gardening, and nature could be shared in a manageable and profitable way. After fifty years of managing the location, the couple made the decision to pass the business on to their daughter, who shared her mother’s passion but also aimed to expand the store’s reach farther into the surrounding community of Louisville.
